I always went for 1manBanjo because it's easier to type 1 than one, but so many promoters (if given the option) choose "one man banjo" or "sean lee's amazing one man show". so I'm taking a survey, I must make these conciderations for my upcoming website.

Hey watch it. I'm a promoter and it's damned difficult to promote an act few people are aware of unless you're able to tell people what it is. Would you go to a show with a band called simply "Transmission"? Well, that's my challenge. Turns out that Transmission is one of the hottest bands out there, but not an especially popular one. One player has been on Letterman. They've recorded with Tom Waits, and countless other performers. But what is "Transmission"? See, unless you know the band you don't know what Transmission is. We call it "avant groove jazz"; it's high-powered alternative jazz. So, it's necessary to define an act and put it into some kind of category or else it ends up in the ocean of other acts nobody knows about or cares about.

Fri, January 6, 2006 - 6:02 AMat the top of your home page, make a block of text with buzzy-words like "one man banjo, banjo, onemanbanjo, darkprinceofevil, tentacle, bluegrass" etc. and hide it under a graphic or make it really small. Put it before everything else so that searches turn up that string of text. Then, blow the guy from Google's "blow me for a higher hit" dept. -

Mon, January 23, 2006 - 1:04 PMUse every variation and have them all point to the same place. It's really the only way to be sure you're capturing everyone. Then make the "1manBanjo" prominent at the top of the page so that people are aware of the spelling.

Mon, February 13, 2006 - 10:59 AMyou can also use a billion variations and breakdowns in the meta tags of the html code that will lead people to your site if they search various terms that are not visible or hidden under pictures such as: one man bands, banjo players, 1manBanjo, lmanbanjo, oneman, one-man, . . .
you can include typos the letter "l" in place of "1" and abbreviations. All which may lead people to your site from a number of search engines. -
